About Padma Library
Padma Library was established on October 20, 2020. It is a non-profit organization. With the slogan “Read books, build a better society”, Padma Library began its journey. The library is located at the Jagannathpur Union of Thakurgaon district in northern Bangladesh.
Padma Library is situated in a remote area of Bangladesh.
The library has been named “Padma Library.
Padma is an illiterate woman who lives in the village. Thousands of illiterate women like the Padma in a rural area in Bangladesh think they are blind even though they have eyes. Due to the family, socioeconomic background and various other reasons, these women may have been deprived of education. However, the contribution of all these women in a family is no less than that of a man.
Here, “Padma” is a symbolic name. Thousands of women like Padma” work day and night in silence for their families. The decision to name the library was taken out of respect and reverence for the thousands of unnamed Padma.
